gisela
Hi everybody,is it true that Profoto monoheads are the only one that don't change the color temperature when using less power?
ronald_moravec1
You won`t get an answer because nobody has tried everything. I`ll start, My Normans do not.
buckry
None of my strobes seem to, if they do, it's within an acceptable amount and doesn't adversely affect image quality. I have several brands, my main studio lights are S+P.

frolickingbits
My white Lightnings seem to shift pretty blue at low power, but I can fix it just fine in post.

guy ronkar
Basically, all the more expensive "pro" lineups will have consistent color temperature across the entire power range, vs for example alienbees which won't. Of course, this is not meant to degrade alienbees in any way, it's up to you to decide if that's important to you or not.
craig_shearman1
My Novatrons seem to have consistent color temp regardless of power setting. Even my Vivitar units do. To my knowledge, color temp shifts with hot lights if you try to put them on dimmers, but should be consistent or pretty close to consistent on both studio strobes and on-camera flash because you're varying the duration of the flash, not its intensity. max_shore
Where it would be an issue would be if you were using multiple lights on different power settings for one subject eg one on max, one on min - no simple colour correction there.
