v._b.
The time came to replace my old PC and of course monitor. I've been using CRT for many years, but now this type of monitors is not available any more in the market I live. So I have to go for LCD. I only had experience previously with a simple laptop monitor which I found inferior to my old CRT. I was offered LG model L1953 TR Flatron. Any experience with this? P.S. I'm not professional and don't need it for "high end" work, but I do a lot of traditional BW scanning and BW tones do matter.
colinsouthern
If you can get one that pivots it makes it a LOT seasier to work on vertical images. Cheers, Colin
mendel_leisk
I have high end Viewsonic CRT's at home, and an Optiquest Q9 LCD (decent quality?)at work. After a bit of getting used to the LCD, I hardly notice the difference. I think the LCD's have "arrived".
marc_rochkind
Desktop LCD monitors are, in my experience, very different from laptop LCD screens, and the best of them are excellent for photo work. Use your calibration device, of course. --Marc
