robert_kruger
Hello, I have the possibility to buy these two lenses from a pro for 1400 and 1272 dollars.-The 400 is version I and was bought arround 1991, it has heavy use marks but functions perfectly (optically perfect). It has been heavily used, autofocus motor has been replaced end last check up was end of 2006-The 200 has less use marks and optical performance state is +++Would i be a nutter to buy them or a nutter not to buy them ... considering canon sees them as irreparable? Kind regards, Robert
brian_coy
Everyone that I know that sold the 200 f1.8 always regretted it later. If I had the money I'd get it at least.
fourfa
US$1272 for the 200/1.8? Is that correct? RUN don't walk over there before he changes his mind. To be perfectly honest you can flip it on ebay for three times that.
jcolwell
Piffle, sounds like a poor deal to me. By the way, could you please send his or her phone number to me by email ? On the other hand, tell me their address and I'll get in touch with my travel agent.
vivek
Holy smokes! Those are GREAT deals if legit.
jimstrutz
Robert, I think they are saying that you're a nutter for asking the question instead of bragging about the deal you just made. :)
John Crowe
Buy them now! If you decide that you do not want to risk failing aperture and auto focus in the future, then sell them and make enough money to buy a much newer version of either or something like a brand new 300/2.8. scil_concepts
If you decide not to buy them for whatever reason, please pass me his/her phone number, I would love to buy the 200 F/1.
david_spencer3
Just make sure the seller is legitimate. Otherwise they're too good to be true.
sheldonnalos
They're worth about $3k for the 400mm and $3500-4k for the 200mm. They're both about as good as a lens can get. Buy them.
craig_buckingham
Well I have been told parts are no longer available for 400 series 1 model and the 180 also. So if that is the case it seriously detracts from their resale value.
