john_patronie
Does anyone know where to get 3/8 to 1/4 reducing bushing that is longer than the standard bushing that are found? I have a problem with a stripped piece of equipment that can be solve with a bushing that is double or 2.5 x the length of those bushing that we all know. toner
Are you talking about the tripod adapater bushings? 3/8-16 to 1/4-20? Don't know where you'd get a non-standard one of those. I could probably make you one (that's what the lathe is for) but have no idea where you could buy one or if they even exist. Is it the 3/8 thread that's stripped? If so, you might be able to fix it with a helicoil.
bob_salomon
Linhof and Giottos make longer bushings with 5 full turns of thread.
stephenwood
Also had a longer one on the bottom of my Mamiya RZ67. I'll be more than happy to send it to you since I don't use it. [the bushing, not the camera :-)]
john_patronie
Yes...tripod adapter bushings. But I suppose that other inudstries may have that size bushing also. Yes the 3/8 is stripped on a $104 rail clamp but if the bushing was longer it would grab farther into the opening where the threads are still good. Where can I get that helicoil? Linhoffs and Giottos?...Hmmm...I'll have to give them a look. SW....you would send it to me? That would be very cool.
bob_salomon
Linhof and Giottos tripod bushings can be ordered from your camera store. Linhof's are the longest.
