tripod hole reducing bushings

Are you talking about the tripod adapater bushings? 3/8-16 to 1/4-20?

Don't know where you'd get a non-standard one of those. I could probably make you one (that's what the lathe is for) but have no idea where you could buy one or if they even exist.

 

Is it the 3/8 thread that's stripped? If so, you might be able to fix it with a helicoil.

Yes...tripod adapter bushings. But I suppose that other inudstries may have that size bushing also.

Yes the 3/8 is stripped on a $104 rail clamp but if the bushing was longer it would grab farther into the opening where the threads are still good.

Where can I get that helicoil?

Linhoffs and Giottos?...Hmmm...I'll have to give them a look.

SW....you would send it to me? That would be very cool.
