alex_shapiro
Hi folks, I got a few rolls of 220 film with my camera, but it doesn't say the film speed/asa anywhere or even if it's B/W or color. Is there a trick to finding this out? Don't want to waste all that mystery film. Thanks!! -Alex alexplus100@yahoo.com
kelly_hughes
Post a picture, so we can see. Does it have a family name, ie, Portra, Ektachrome, etc?
jim_murray2
What exactly does it say?
nancy s.
Usually it will tell you when you load it on the spool. As you approach the arrows for line up on the top spool, the paper winds around the take up spool and the name is there.... (like Portra NC 160 is ASA/ISO 160). If the film is in the plastic sealed wrapper it is normally on the wrapper as "Portra NC 400" (ASA/ISO 400) etc.
alex_shapiro
Extra info on mystery film: The foil wrapper the film's in says PXP 220 On the white band that keeps the roll together, it says PXP220/6057 There's no useful info when you unwrap the film, just a warning about using it in 220 cameras. The plot thickens.. Thanks folks, hope this info helps solve the mystery! Best, Alex
