elmroc
Now...with this purchase, will i have to update my raw editor? I'm currently using Capture 4.1. Will i have to move up to NX?
ShunCheung
I believe you'll need to upgrade to NX 1.2.

liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
Shun, I may be wrong but I do believe the D300 will come with software included. I've read something to that effect. John, I suggest double checking if it's included (as I believe it to be) before you buy anything more. No need to pay for something which is included with the camera. I am fairly sure I've read that software will be included.... Lil

ShunCheung
Tom, thanks for the link. I have read something like that (the first 300K users) but didn't know the details. Apparently it is NX 1.3 (instead of 1.2) then. In any case, the Capture 4.1 to NX upgrade is via a web download and you pay by credit card on line. I have done that myself. Therefore, there is no need to upgrade in advance. Wait till you get the D300 and see what you need then.
joshodonnell
Folks over on a different set of forums are reporting that Ritz sent out an email today stating that the D300 is en route to their warehouse from Nikon... I preordered from Ritz on 8/27 and didn't get the email :-(
chris hughes
People on that forum are FREAKING OUT about the email. Some are having a fit because they didn't get it, some because they did. Tons of them are rushing to the phones to bother the Ritz customer service people. It's really kind of embarrassing. Makes me wonder if Ritz regrets sending out the email in the first place. derek_boocock
At the Nikon Expo here in UK yesterday, the Nikon guys confirmed it will come with NX. I've pre-ordered a D300 from WEX (No. 45 on their list) and I was also told I would definitely have my D300 in November. On another note, the fps rate with a grip and a fast card is simply stunning.
