jeff_cloninger
I just got my Sigma EF-530 DG Super (Canon) and slid my Pocket Wizard Plus IItransceiver on it with a Paramount stereo mini to female hotshoe adapter betweenthem. Pressed the test button on the PW and... nothing. Tried the PW on my other flash unit, worked great; put the Sigma on my 20D,worked great; PW with Sigma, nothing. Tried swapping adapter cords and usingboth ports on the PW and even tried using my other dedicated receiver PW unit, but the PW units won't fire the Sigma 530. I'm using the built-in optical slavemode of the Sigma for now, but would like to figure out this PW issue. Any ideas?Jeff
jimstrutz
I didn't have a PW to try it the Sigma, but I couldn't get it to work with an optical slave. The built in one works well, but I had an application where I wanted to use an external trigger. The flash would not cooperate. Don't know why. gerfoy3
It's going around...500 DG Super set on manual the same issue...Have you contacted Pocket Wizard or Sigma? I think I might try that...Hope I'm not looking at getting rod of the sigma flashes (just when I thought I had most of my gear that I needed for now). I'm at a loss and not too happy at the moment Ger..
gerfoy3
Ok, update...when I set the Sigma to SL C0 (change that to C1) and press the test button on the PW plugged into the flash it fires. When I press the test button on the remote PW nothing happens. Ger..
gerfoy3
GOT IT TO WORK!!! 1. If I plug the flash into the camera/flash socket it triggers... 2. Turn on your flash. It will show "TTL" 3. Press the "MODE" button 5 times until you only see a large lightening bolt and a small one. That's the one with the large AND small lightening bolt and you'll see "SL" off to the right. Make sure you change the "C0" to any other "C#". Ger..
jeff_cloninger
Awesome, thanks Ger. That worked for me as well, I think that C# SL is supposed to be for Simga's proprietary infrared trigger system, but I'm not going to complain. Thanks again!
