I think it probably can be repaired. I don't remember if the shutter

is electronic, but I assume it is! Almost all Contaxes from this

generation were. The only manual shutter came later in the Contax S.

 

You mention the Winder? I assume this is a add-on auto-winder?!?

Have you tried the camera alone with out the winder?

 

If you surf Contax USA Repair, there is an authorized repair in NY/USA

for most all Contax

I used to have a pair of 139's. Both of them needed repairs to the shutter after a few years

of use - if you're in NY, you might try Ken Hansen photographic. I also had the Winder II's -

sounds like you've got one as well. I didn't have that particular problem, though.
