jammer_jammer
......without having to pay for prints? I have a scanner so I don't really see any sense in paying for prints that I wouldn't have bothered to make in the first place. Does anybody here take this approach? If so, who do you use? carbon_dragon
I just ask for that service at my local Wolf/Ritz Camera. And I don't take the chance of the negatives being lost in the mail and I get them right away (in about 20 minutes). Why online?
steven_clark
I use a local dip'n'dunk lab myself, no scratches that way and most cities of any decent size seem to have at least one. Last I checked Colorado Springs has two and we're pretty small as cities go.
bcostin
I don't have any experience with online services, but my local Target, Walmart, and Ritz will all do that. I just write in "Develop only, no prints, cut negatives". They all have a "process only" price on file (only 99 cents at Target, about $2 at Walmart, and I remember it being more expensive at Ritz.) andre_reinders
I used to do the local lab thing and ask for negs only - I saved about $1.50 on a $5 processing charge. I determined that my time spent scanning was more valuable than the $1.50 for the prints so I started getting the prints again - I look at them as proofs and then only scan the frames I really want. If it just for web type sharing then I scan the prints - it is quicker.

james_alexander
My local Costco will also do negs only for about $2. I get them returned uncut then I cut them at home into strips of 6, which is the longest strip my scanner will take, instead of Costco's standard strips of 4.
