Will a AF teleconverter TC-16 work with new Nikon dSLR?

Hi,

 

Forgive my ignorance, I am just wondering if the old TC-16 will function with

the newer generation of Nikon dSLRs, like D80?

The reason I am asking this? Well, I have a Tokina 300mm f2.8 lens in Nikon

mount which I would like to turn AF if this combination works.

Yes. I use one with my MF EDIF 300/2.8 on a D2x.
