DIY Ringflashes

Hi Caesar and others,

 

Just posting in case some of you haven't seen this webpage I just found... I

have understood that proper "fashion ringflashes" are extremely expensive, and

not something most people can get. But, you can make your own, and it looks

real impressive to me, for $16... Probably not the same as a 3000WS Elinchrom,

but... Somebody might find this DIY project fun, and it must be very rewarding

to reach the results of the designer of this, because it even looks real great,

and nothing anybody should need to embarrassed of using in public!

i dont see what you are looking at. i must be daft. the only DIY ringflashes i recall are

handmade modifyers to put on a hotshoe flash... can you give me a direct link, i am

intrigued.

I guess makeshift.com has been taken over by someone else so I can not find anything about this project. I tried contacting Aase M using the email supplied by photo net but is was closed so I was hoping someone else might have copied this information back in 2005

i have no idea. i have been hoping to find someone who could explain the ins and outs of

marrying a metz 45 with a ring bulb for ages, but i have not found anyone in europe who

claims to undertand such things or offer an opinion.

If I remember this was not a flash per se but rather a round frame holding hot lights. Very

interesting catchlights a ring with discrete little bulbs.
