benjamin_kim
Hi, this is my first time posting a question here. I have searched through the forum and have not managed to find an answer. I have just bought a used winder F for my 205 and after attaching it to the camera and pressing the shutter release, the motor wound for a split second then stopped. I took out the batteries and noticed that the fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and the same thing happened again. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this same problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
q.g._de_bakker
Hello Benjamin,

I'm not sure if this matters, but we will have to start somewhere: does your Winder F have two short blue stripes on it, near the release catch?
If not, it's the earlier model, made for the 2000 FCW and 2003 FCW cameras. benjamin_kim
Yup, it's got the 2 blue lines at the bottom. Have you experienced the same problem before?
q.g._de_bakker
No, luckily, i haven't.

Can you wind the camera without motor?
Maybe something is blocking the winder - could be the camera.
But if the camera works fine without the winder, it is highly likely that the winder has a fault.
And that this is why the previous owner got rid of it. Alas, there is a lot of dishonesty in this world...
I would contact the person you got it from, and tell him the thing is broken, and either return the thing, or try to get to some kind of agreement, in which the seller pays for the repair and you keep the thing. benjamin_kim
Yup, can wind the camera fine with the crank. Will bring the winder to local agent and have them take a look at it. I got it from Tony Rose at popflash.com. Told him about the problem and he said to get the local agent to diagnose it then let him know what's wrong. He gave a 30 day warranty. Hope it's nothing serious. Thanks for your help.
