joel_blacher
Ok, I thought I'd try to run 2 montiors, so I hook up and play with the settings (extending the screen and toggling back and forth between LCD and CRT). All of a sudden, the touchpad freezes, so I reboot. All's fine during startup and then...freezes again...at the same point each time (or so it seems). I've tried to reboot three times and it keeps freezing. Can anybody help me with this?
mike_kim
You need to provide more informations, i.e., what operating system, what laptop, what connection (DVI-D, DVI-D, or VGA), and if you are using a docking station? If you are using Windows 2000/XP, try booting with Safemode. You can hold down F8 key while booting and it should bring your computer to a safe mode where you can trouble shoot and fix your display setting. With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu. I hope this helps! -Mike Trouble Getting into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe mode
Spearhead
Is it just the touchpad that freezes? Sometimes touchpad software gets re-set when doing other system operations. Try connecting a mouse.
