frank_skomial
There is a nice Ring flash at reasonable price from Alien Bees, e.g. http://www.alienbees.com/abr800.html Some in-depth review by Ellis, or perhaps others, were already provided on photo.net few months ago, just search.. digitmstr
I have never heard of a circle flash but, I do know there is a RING flash. You can definitely get one within your budget however, it's not a type of light I'd use very often at all. It's up to you if it's worth the money or not. joseph_i
"I have never heard of a circle flash but, I do know there is a RING flash." Seems you were able to decipher the code. Good for you. Also nice to know it's not something you would use often. Great! Where did you see his budget mentioned? It is definitley something you can rent, even through the mail, to try before you spend a grip on something you may or may not use often. One would probably need to know what you intend to use it for to make that determination, eh, Giamp?
j_smith6
There are some adapters to normal flashes that make it a ring flash. There was a thread about it few weeks ago at photo.net but I can't find it. Maybe someone has a link. You could also try this: http://www.studiolighting.net/homemade-ring-light-using-plywood/ it gives nice reflections in eyes.
john_macpherson
There's a thingy here in the UK at Speed Graphic which converts a regular Canon/Nikon flash into a ring flash for a reasonable price: http://www.speedgraphic.co.uk/prod.asp?i=17246&1=Ringflash+Adaptor
frank_skomial
This "thingy" costs 155 British Pounds, and it just a tray of a plastic and internal reflective surfaces, that should cost no more than I would say a 50. The 150 is about 2/3 of the price for ABR-800 that has power of 320 Wattseconds, and is a complete independent system, that you can also get a Vagabond battery for it.
