Does the diffuser on the SB800 work for the SB600

I am ordering the SB800 for my main flash. I already have a SB600 but it is

lacking power so I am going to use it for my secondary camera. My question is,

does the Nikon diffuser that comes with the SB800 work on the SB600? It kinda

looks like an omnibounce. I am not sure if they are the same phyiscal size. I

don't want to order a omnibouce if it will fit the SB600. All I need is more

crap taking up space!! I already have a Lightsphere that I love but carrying

two cameras with two lightspheres on them would be a little much for me!

Alas, they're not a good fit. The SB800 actually has a small microswitch that "feels" the diffusor in place and automatically adjusts the zoom as needed. That diffusor is pretty specific to that strobe... you can't even put it on upside down. It's off to Stofen with you, I'm afraid.

I'd get the Sto-Fen OM-600 for thr SB-600:

if you are serius about a diffuser get the Gary Fong Lightsphare II.

 

I have both, clear and cloud and both are AWESOME, if you need to pick ONE get the Clear.

Order the Omnibounce and do what I did. Just leave it on the SB600 all the time. I almost

never want to take it off, so it doesn't take up any space at all...
