jeffrey_ying1
Hello, I have an Alpa 11el and there are some things that I'm unsure about. What is that little window you can slide closed and open on the flash bracket? Also, what is the little "door" you can slide out on the bottom left side of the film chamber--it's right above the sliding location where you insert the meter battery. Also, is there any use for the gold bar on the top? <img src=http://www.alpareflex.com/Cameras/Images/alpa11r6.jpg alt=1> Thank you very much. lee hamiel
Jeffrey: I know nothing about Alpa cameras but you might want to post a query at apug - Roger Hicks seems to know a bit about them. See: http://www.apug.org/forums/forum13/ Good luck
stuart_vu
Jeffrey, the little window on the flash shoe that you can open and check the LED metering, the gold bar in front of the flash shoe that you can twist to remove it and be able to access inside the camera for adjusting the meter sensitive. The door on the bottom of the film chamber is for adjust the shutter curtains tension. Cheers.
jeffrey_ying1
Thank you. I opened up the gold cover and there are several small items; how exactly do you adjust it? I can't seem to get the meter to work even with a new 6V battery. Do these fail often? Or is there some specific way these meters worked?
jeffrey_ying1
I figured out how the meter works, but the adjustment seems really baroque.
ken_jeanette1
Baroque is certainly an apropriate term for anything ALPA. I love them, and they are quirky. Congratulations on owning the 11el, enjoy it.
h._p.
I've always considered the Alpa a great contender for the 'most impressive SLR' title and especially the 10s and 11s. Congratulations on your aquisition.
