I searched the post and found some articles on combining images and stiching.

What I would like to do is to combine a couple of shots a tennis player to show

motion(shot in sequence), could some one point me to a tutorial? I have been

experimenting with making a layer mask for each and making away at each one, am

I on the right track?

Thanks

Jim, assuming the photos are the same resolution, just make the canvas size of the first one big enough for 2 shots.

Select the second shot via "Select/All," then use the move tool to click/drag the second shot over the first shot and drop it. That copies the second into a new layer with the first shot.

You can then move it around if you have to. A new layer will automatically get created when you drop one shot on the other.

Right click to choose which layer is active for moving.

But I think she wants to show part of one photo on top of another. I'd have to play around with it myself, but I think you want to create a layer mask that is the difference between the photos and use that as a way to select the player. Having an initial photo of just the background would have made this easy because you'll have to do some manual selecting to remove the background and player overlap.
