light meter

Recommended Posts

why digital? analogue ones are easier to use, in my opinion.

all lightmeters have ISO settings, as all a lightmeter needs is the ISO to be set, then a

relationship between shutter speed and aperture.

... thus, what do you need it for?

Have a look at the Seconic range esp the Seconic L308s or older L308B (one currently on ebay UK - Item number: 30012942170)These are flash meters as well as ambient - very useful. Another make to check out would be Sheppard/Polaris.

Abhishek, 'Shepherd' meters were an excellent budget range - I presume the company has been taken over, hence the Polaris label - i'm a bit out of date!

The difference between Analogue and digital is only in the way they present the readout to you, either can be used with any type of camera.

I'm slightly confused whether you want a meter to read daylight (ambient) or flash or both? the Polaris will do both, but if you only want one or the other there may be cheaper alternatives.

I'll attach photos to try to show difference between analogue/digital.
