terry_o_connor
Hi all Has anyone else seen this issue? I have my laptop calibrated using Spyder 2 express but when I plug a USB device in or open and close the laptop lid the colour profile goes back to pre-spyder express settings. Its like the difference between the before and after calibration settings. Sometimes on extreme events when this happens the display settings even change to a resolution of 640 x 480 ! Closing and opening the lid again and resetting the profile via colour managment (even though spyder express profile is listed) resets it correctly but continually doing this is driving me nuts. Recently the "old" profile has just started popping up on its own too with no interaction from me. Ive tried recalibrating again but the same problem. Any help greatly appreciated. William Kahn
Is Adobe Gamma disabled in the startup menu?

iwmac
I have the same thing happening on my laptop as you are having happen with yours. I keep the profile chooser open and minimized and just keep resetting it. Never had the resolution change. Really annoying. Doesn't happen on my desktop with XP. benny_spinoza
Is the profile you created for your monitor set as the default? Go to Control Panel, in the color management folder. There, you can set your icc profile as the default profile. By the way, I don't have photoshop installed on my Vista machine. I don't know whether that helps or not. terry_o_connor
Yes its set as default in control panel. I mailed colorvision tech support who advised me to remove the current colorvision software and download and install the latest software version 2.3.5. I also removed Quicktime which was causing Vista to revert to basic display mode on startup but none of the above worked.
terry_o_connor
Had another reply from the colorvision guys regarding this...they say.... "let me guess, you're laptop has an integrated intel graphic card (e.g. i945 or the new X3100)? The problem you're talking about is caused by the intel display driver. For some reasons intel no longer matches the defined standards for working with profile which has been set be the Internation Color Consortium (ICC). I would ask you to either try the lastest driver from intels website or contact intel's technical support for help." I have the latest driver from Intel and Intel themselves wont talk to me as they say its an issue with a 3rd party application. The Phrase "Passing the buck" springs to mind. So it looks like if you are experiencing this youre stuck with it. Thanks Guys....
Tim_Lookingbill
That's not the only problems integrated intel graphics chips have with the internal graphics subsystem. Two friends of mine I tried troubleshooting their $500 Windows XP systems had numerous issues playing DVD's using Window's own drivers and other problems with media I can't clearly recall right now. They both had to buy third party AGP or PCI graphics cards to solve their problems.
