will that 40-150MM lens for the E-500 work on my E-300?

Yes. All E-System lens fit all E-system cameras. Visit Olympus web site for more on that and

I bought the 50-200mm lens with the camera and kit lens and my 40 - 150 is for sale. I have used it once, just testing images, absolutely new. Let me know if interested.

Though Olympus has better glass (for a price), but the 40-150mm is a great lens when matched with the E-300. I have the older f/3.5-f/4.5 model and I like it over the smaller and slower new version. I'm holding on to this body for my dear life sense Olympus is going back to the more conventional style bodies. :-(
