patrick j dempsey
The red filter really cuts the glare it looks like.... this thing isnt half bad. :) "SUPER" might be because of the flash... and "R - I" is obvisouly "Really - Inexpensive"
sw12dz
Excellent, Gene. I love pics of old factories taken with old cameras. I agree with Patrick about the "R-I".
charles_stobbs3
Very interesting Gene. Some of those river/canal industrial complexes managed to extract a lot of power without generating any greenhouse gasses. Free power and low wages allowed for solid construction. jim_mcbride
Good pictures, Gene. I'll bet the original owner was pretty happy with the pictures he was able to make with his R - I. The pictures look a little like the ones I used to get from an old Kodak TLR I used to have. I did the same thing: held a filter over the taking lens to make exposures in sunlight. I used to get pretty good results with a yellow (#8) filter. I lived for many years in RI, where there are many abandoned mill sites. Those old "brownfield" locations presented a lot of interesting photographic opportunities in what I used to call "ruins."

david_m
Looks suspiciously like a Spartaflex - which are usually found in black, but I've seen them in grey too.
chuck_foreman1
Wow, It means "Super" in your hands... really cool phots of the old industrial ruin and incorporating the river/stream. Are you using a filter to improve the exposure indexing or just to add the definition contrast?
