Online suppliers of camera batteries

There is a wide range of pricing on third party digital camera batteries

online, and it is hard to tell why. Would like to know some trustworthy brands

and some reputable suppliers. Thanks.

I have gotten batteries for my 5D from SterlingTek. The batteries are inexpensive and work

great. I think a lot of people reccomend them. They have other battery types as well

I got a "CTA" brand battery from B&H. The plastic housing around the contacts intruded on the contact area and prevented it from making good contact when it was inside the camera. That sucked, but I was able to carve it away a bit with a knife. Once I got it working, it turned out to be a great battery - better than the original Canon.

Sterlingtek. I have about a dozen of them. No problems at all.

I've bought no-name LiIon batteries from Hong Kong via eBay. Out of two dozen, I have had one bad one. About $12 each delivered to my door in packages of two.

I second SterlingTek for batteries for my 20D and their charger.

My experience is that SterlingTek batteries, when fully charged, will fire as many shots as

Canon batteries.

 

But when they're charged & waiting a while to go in the camera, the Canon batteries seem

to hold the full charge while ST charge drops off more rapidly.

 

I dunno why this might be.
