Hello everyone!

I suddently felt an overwhelming desire to get myself one of these beauties, but

I've done som Googl'ing around and can't seem to find anyplace/anyone that sells

50mm f/1.2 Zuikos. :(

I hope someone will be able to indicate where to find such a lens to buy.

P.S. I have always wondered how come this f/1.2 lens is so cheap (i understand

good ones can be had for around $300?) compared to similar nikon or canon

samples? Has this been discussed around here in the past, the zuiko 1.2 vs nikon

1.2 issue?

Thank you very much, I hope you'll help me find a 1.2 to buy!

the reason they are so cheap is because the OM system has been discontinued, but you can still use older Nikkor lenses on recent Nikon bodies.

they are fairly sought after, and not very common on ebay. There are currently no F1.2 lenses on KEH but check back from time to time because I have seen them on there before.

Hi,

I have been buying & selling OM gear (amongst others) as a hobby for some years now. Did you really expect to find one on a shelf somewhere? even when new this was a special order lens.

Currently the OM Zuiko 55/1.2 is fairly easy to find and comes up for sale on evilbay virtually every month. However the 50mm f1.2 is much scarcer and highly prized by the OM crowd, so they all want one and there is frenzied bidding on the odd occasion when one appears.

Here is how to find one IFF you really want one...set an ebay search up for the Zuiko 50mm f1.2 as a 'favourite' search so that when one is listed on ebay they email you to let you know..you have to be careful with the search terms you use though. Also do regular searches on google, so that if a dealer lists one, it may show up. Also do regular searches on well known dealers sites who stock OM gear.

I do this in the UK and found an OM Zuiko 50/1.2 in mint condition last year for 199 GBP.

cheers Steve.

Cheap? $300 for a used 50mm lens doesn't seem cheap, but the 1.2 has always been for a select audience. Prices seemed to have fallen last year at some time.. recall seeing one or more on KEH for lower $200s. But i think they've moved back up again.

I bought my f/1.2 years ago for night walks out around the city steets...i have a dozen zuiko primes and this is honestly my favourite. It's stunningly sharp past f/4.

Few photos outside the 35mm-85mm band ever "work" for my eyes, so what a great thing olympus made awesome lenses at those lengths, and points in between! :-)
