amy_wilson
Looks like the 1D-Mark III is set for June as opposed to May. Any news regarding the auto focus issue (or any other issues)? Thanks

mike_smith2
How can it have a focus issue? - it has a calibration function to tweak the focus with specific lenses to overcome the numerous 'backfocus' issues of earlier series cameras
alec_myers
Actually I'm more interested to know if they've fixed the thermochromic re-sparge problem. I think that one's going to be much tougher to put right.
alexdi
Per Rob Galbraith: "In the preproduction body we have, the autofocus doesn't work right. When it was issued to us, Canon made it clear that the autofocus wasn't working right in this generation of preproduction camera and/or firmware and provided the assurances you'd expect about how it will be working properly by the time the new model hits the streets. And that's likely to be the case. But it's not guaranteed to be the case, so please keep that in mind before you hand over your VISA card to your pro camera dealer." mark from thailand
The thermochromic re-sparge has been solved, according to the Canon Moldovia web-site, using some clever algorithmic re-gurgitation. However, it admits the intermittent sensor singularity control loop feedback may take longer to fix.

chrisjb
Amy, I don`t think canon would release rhis model if there was a known problem, they are trickling here in Oz, one passed thru a prominent photoshop here 11 days ago at PC in brisbane I`m told. quite a few models in the past have had teething problems once used and abused. alec_myers
I gather Canon are gearing up to tell everyone they need to use a special filter over all their lenses.
