kash_hussain
The Nikon 50mm f1.8 seems to be in short supply in the UK. On back-order with most retailers, it seems Nikon can't build these things fast enough. I've not seen it on B&H's website either. Ebay seems the best bet over here - just wondered what the status was in the US and elsewhere? What's the cheapest price stateside for this prime? Cheers Kash
tri-x1
I've seen them listed new recently for anywhere from $130 to $150. I just bought one on the auction--essentially NIB for $110 including shipping. I was even able to register the warranty.
graham_marsden
MicroGlobe had some in stock. http://www.microglobe.co.uk/catalog/ but probably due to demand they are waiting too. Glad I got mine. It's super !!
sebastian_peck
I just bought a 50mm f/1.8D from B and H for 115$. It was the best price I found from a reputable dealer. It hasn't shipped yet but they said that it was in stock.
frankie_frank1
Nikon may change it to AF-S.
ilkka_nissila
Frankie, that may indeed eventually happen ... been waiting for it for 13 years myself ... But the 1.8 is one of Nikon's cheapest lenses, adding AF-S + full-time manual to it would probably increase its price by a factor of 3. The 50mm is a brilliant optic and I am happy with mine, AF-S or not. Now about those missing wide angle primes .... :?-)
tom_yuan
I don't know if KEH ships to the UK but I got mine for $109 new from them.
