sacbee
I'm getting the following items (used) for about 350 US dollars. Is it a good deal? By the way I'm a canon user and wanted to explore Nikon, would it be a good idea to go for this? 1) Camera Body (1) a. Nikon N80 (F80) 2) Lenses (2) a. Nikon G Series (70-300) b. Sigma - (28-105) 3) Filters (3) a. UV filters for both the lenses b. Polariser for bigger lens along with the connector to be used with the smaller dia lens 4) Cable release (1) 5) Camera Case(1)
steve_levine
Try checking the prices of similar items at KEH or one of the larger dealers. $350 sounds high for a film camera now days.
bwcombs
A little high, but pretty much in line with KEH. (At least for the body and two lenses.)
photo5
Depending on condition, if they're all mint, I'd say it's not a bad deal. But also consider that a good F100 body can be found for around $300-$350 as well. The F100 is faster and is built better than the F80. john schroeder
I agree. It sound's a bit high. $250.00 to $300.00 would be a better price point for a used system like this in todays market.
erik_loza
What Dave said. The F100 is a far superior camera to the F80 in every regard and is available for that price. Those lenses are nothing special and shouldn't really be considered a value.
stefaan_boonen
I think it's a great deal ... to explore Nikon. The N/F80 is (or should I say was) for an amateur a great choice. With this you are set to go. The above would have cost you at least 1000 USD new (a couple of years ago). It all depends whether it's all in mint condition or not.
