mitchfalk
I just got a second 4803 pack and hooked up both to a 105 4 cable head (9600 watts)just to see what it would do - WOW, I had to check to see if my bookcase caught fire !!! I will be using it to light a skating rink. Do you think this is too much or (I can't imagine) not enough ?
martial_baribault1
Well I would say that one head is the problem, sure to have unveven lighting.
brooks short
Yeah, that's a big pop! 2-4800ws heads would be better than 1-9600ws head. Put an 11" or better yet a 16" reflector on that head and see if there's a light colored ceiling for a ceiling bounce. You should be able to get f-8 to f-11 at 100 ISO if the ceiling is really high. BTW, don't even think about looking at the flash tubes when you fire it at full power. #8^)
larry_hunt
yeah, don't look into the flash when it's firing, unless you like stumbling around for a few minutes while you get your sight back. Make sure that when you use it in the rink that you have a radio slave attached or everybody with a point and shoot will get the benefit of your strobe.
