pathways
This is a comment on the display of flame azaleas and mountain laurels in the southern mountains this spring. Last weekend showes a super display around Franklin, NC, and I heard about a great show over on the Blue Ridge Parkway between Graveyard Field (mile 419) to the GSMNP. Lots of pinks, yellows and even reds. Last weekend it was from about 3800 to 5000 feet.
john_cothron
It's a little late.. but you should make the trip to Roane Mountain State Park next spring.. the rhodedendron there is unbelievable..and I think you'll probably find some flame azalea in the area also. This is in the extreme north eastern TN area.
