russ_kientsch
Can someone help with this? I have just installed Camera Control Pro onto a Mac G4 1.6ghz with 1.25ram. I need to shoot with the camera attached to the Mac so that my client can view the images as I am taking them. However, every time I shoot a frame the picture takes a really long time to appear in the viewer. Am I being unrealistic to assume that the images should appear instantaneously or in a few seconds? Alternatively, what can I do to speed up the process?
tonybeach
Buy more RAM.
john_mitchell7
I presume this transfer to be a USB connection. Do you have USB 2.0 connected on both ends? If not it will be quite slow, particularly if you have large images. Some cameras (e.g. Nikon D100) do not have USB 2.0, you will have to live with this or reduce the photo quality for faster image transfer. You say 1.25ram. I presume this to be 1.25GB ram. If so, you should be okay there unless you have a lot of unneeded memory consuming programs running at the same time. Then you need to stop the programs you don't need for the job. CPU speed of 1.6Ghz is slightly low, but should be sufficient for reasonably fast image presentation. Enjoy, John
chris_vincent2
Have you updated to the latest version of CCP? (1.3 I think) You have plenty of RAM for this process. Try Nikon online support - they were very helpful sorting out my wireless connection issues.
keith_durnford
Im using ccp with my D80 attached with a 5m usb2 lead and the pictures show up on screen within 10secs, even raw shots show on screen quicly. It may be that you have a few too many programs running at the same time slowing things up, if thats the case close down everything you dont need. My reply: That's why I suggested more RAM, which would help.
