stephen_kinosh
I'll be shooting a friends wedding in a few weeks adn here is what I ahve. Nikon D70, spare batteries, Sigma 24-135 and SIgma 80-400OS( might me good for background compression in groups, SB80flash/w/color filters, Quantum Turbo battery, and plenty of memory cards. Am I OK, or shoulld I look at renting anoter lens. I do have a D70 as backup also. Steve
frank_skomial
You may need a backup flash. Make sure you do not "overheat SB-800" with "too frequest" flashes. Quantum Turbo is quite potent power supply. So, read SDB-800 manual recommendation to give a break from time to time, or it could quit on you for a while. Make sure you have 2 or 3 sets of AA rechargeable batteries as a beckup for Quantum. I would use a faster/better lens, but the 24-135 perhaps is all you need. Perhaps renting a 50/1.8 or 50/1.4 fast lens should not be expensive, this could improve quality of pictures. You know your Sigma lens what it can do, I assume. Matt Laur
I agree with Frank - don't cook that strobe! And while I also agree with him that a faster lens will help with ambient light shots and some pleasing shallow-depth-of-field images, renting a 50 1.8 strikes me as a waste, since they can be had new for about $100, and will prove to be a favorite tool for years to come. laurenm
I would definitely want another lens as if one of those breaks down, you'd be left pretty limited. Same with a second flash.
conraderb
how about a tripod? always useful. what about a second/backup camera? if not, what do you plan to do when the shutter mechanism on your nikon breaks? it could happen... always have a backup ready.
