idobelieve
We had a lot of fun. I think I need to practice more with the most flattering angles. I know the mother is happy but I would love your comments and criticisms...
Maternity Photos
amycary-hult
I thought you had some very nice shots, although I would have preferred a little more variety - in particular with the placement of her hands. Maybe had a few where her hands were not placed directly on the belly. Just my two cents! Good job!
jill hardin
I really like some of your angles. The lighting is pretty. I agree with Amy on having more variety - but don't worry, that will come with practice! It helped me to look at the websites of great maternity photographers for pose ideas. As far as flattering angles - I've photographed a lot of "curvaceous" women, and have found that several simple things always help- whichever leg is closest to the camera, have them bend it and pop up on their toe (creates a flattering leg line). I always have them bend elbows as much as possible. If her hand is under her belly, have her pull it back so it's more under the side of her belly. Last for larger women, lighting. I highlight the front, and try to keep the back half darker. These have really helped me get flattering shots! In the photo below, this mom had a HUGE double chin and was very large. She ended up ordering a large wall portrait of this shot!
