silverdae
Quick question- I know there is a way to keep the mask with the associated layer so that when I move the layer, the mask moves with it. Could some one remind me how? PS CS2 if that makes a difference- Jen
patricklavoie
not sure i understand? just click on your layer and move it where you want it in the order you need, the mask will follow. no special key require.
silverdae
I want to move the layer within the image (to a new place in the image using the "move" tool), not change the order of the layers in the layer pallette. Sorry, I wasn't clear.
patricklavoie
hmm, i dont have CS2 in front of me, but make sure on the layer palette there is a chain in between the layer and the mask, it should then follow the layer when you use the move tools (if not i will check it tomorow morning for you)
jgaines
If you have an image+layer mask, that is smaller than the background, image (i.e. on a layer of it's own). Then use the transform command (Ctrl+T), then only move it, the mask will follow. Hope this helps. Jim
steve_bingham
Keep in mind that the mask layer works in conjunction with the layer underneath it. That is what it is masking. The mask will stay with the layer/image it is associated with. Not real sure what you are trying to do.
