newborn- best age

Hi, I'm wondering what is the ideal age (as in mumber of weeks) to photograph

a newborn and why? I have read various information in regard to this in the

past but now I cannot find specific info.

I don't think there is an "ideal age" to start photographing children..Hospitals usually offer shots from day one for parents.....and for me children are one of the most inspiring subjects to photograph. I usually try and not use flash, because I like the effect of natural light...plus flash is annoying to adults...think what it must be like for a newborn experiencing life outside the womb for the first time.

I try to get them before the baby acne kicks in at 3-4 weeks. If the mom wants announcements, I'll come over the first week. Or, I'll wait until about 3 or 4 months (or until they can hold their head up and the bumps are gone).
