Olympus Hot Shoe shutter release

Hi Guys,

 

I have recently moved over to digital, SP-350, from my old OM-20, and I am

curious has anyone any experience or knowledge regarding remote shutter release

on these cameras. I know there are velcro contraptions for using shutter release

cables on compact digitals, and possibly i could construct a metal bracket myself.

 

But is it possible to trigger the shutter by using the Hot Shoe for the flash?

The SP-350 uses the same hot shoe as the E-System cameras i think. I have a look

on the net for such an accessory but haven't turned up much.

 

Any ideas anyone?

Looks like it would be easy enough to build your own from legos and threaded rod if you are cheap like me.

Ah, thats a better design than i had in mind. And Lego sounds better than the heavier metal brackets and stuff that i was gonna get at the diy store.

Recently I was on Ebay and spotted a remote control for the Olympus Digital cameras. I didn't have the time then to check it out, but I will in the next few days and get you some more information.
