yan_ke2
When I do a shoot for my clients, do I need express permission from them inorder to use the images in my portfolio, for example in an online gallery? Ifso, what kind of legalese should I include in the contract?
harald_paulsen
I can only speak about norwegian laws, but from what I recall a photographer is free to promote his services with the pictures he or she have taken, without a release form. The law where you live might be different. I would recommend you get one anyhow as a courtesy to the subjects. I know I do. I also respect the clients wishes if they doesn't want to have their picture featured in my online/offline portfolio.
annealmasy
Check out THIS ARTICLE for some great info on model releases and copyright. It's a long read, but well worth it.
And if you're not already familiar with The Photo Attorney, you should check out this blog. Lots of great info all all things legal in the photography industry.
Good luck!
nagya
In my contract it states I can use the photos in advertising. That pretty much covers it for me.
