johnyeatts
I picked up a very nice EXC+ condition Nikon FM2n a couple of weeks ago. Ihadn't been able to shoot a roll of film through it until just this past week.Being new to the camera, when I finished my last exposure I cranked the filmadvance lever one more time (I wasn't sure if 36 was really 36 or not) and feltthe spool go taunt. When I went to rewind the film, I couldn't seem to depressthe film rewind button. It was stuck. In the end I had to open the back (theregoes the film...) and juggle the film canister a a few times before the filmrewind button would depress. Is this normal? Is it difficult to depress thebutton if you overcrank the film advance lever? Thanks.
martin_garramone
I'm new to the FM2n also and had this same problem yesterday. I'd cranked the advance lever about half way when it stopped. I tried to push the rewind button but couldn't press it hard enough to get it to release. I got my Swiss Army knife out and used the flat bladed screw driver to press on the button. I don't like to force things but it seemed to work just fine.
alan_olander1664878205
When there is tension on the film advance mechanism, the rewind button will be difficult to depress. One more reason not to try to get extra frames! ;)
rana_dayal
Thee is NO need to use force....this is a somewhat common occurance when we try to squeeze out the 38th frame (did I just say that ? ;-)In any case this is what you do...jiggle the film crank and depress the rewind button and you should be able to get it to depress. You have a wonderful jewel of a camera on your hands ...enjoy ! If you should have any questions on it feel free to ask. I have shot exclusively with it for years and years.
