valentin_lisjak
I know too many words have been said on this topic, so I also I know I'm lookingfor troubles :-) but anyway: does anybody have a luxury to demonstrate couple of "harsh" bokeh examples (ofthe same scene) taken with 50 summilux at f2, compared to the same shot withsummicron side by side? I used to have an m6 with cron50, until I stupidly sold it for dslr gear. Iliked the results from that lens so much (i had no other leica lens) and I'm anow bit concerned with what some people describe as "harsh" bokeh of lux50 (feltin love with MP3 LHSA kit that comes with 50lux). So I would like to see if cronwould have rendered OOF parts of the same scene more pleasantly (ie. moresmooth, fuzzy, silky, soft, ... not easy to explain that taste i have) TIA,Valentin
35mmdelux
Are you referring to 50mm Lux Asph?
valentin_lisjak
Apologies for not being clear: yes, i have in mind the current new 50 mm lux asph. thanks
derek_stanton2
There's nothing "harsh" about the 50Lux-ASPH's bokeh. I liked it's bokeh better than the 50DR and pre-ASPH 50Lux i used to own.
steve_huff1
The 50 Lux ASPh DOES NOT have harsh bokeh. I see this written all of the time but it just is not true. Its creamy and smooth as silk. It also is the best lens in Leicas lineup IMO. The best 50 EVER.<div></div>
jtk
Nice shot Steve. Like you say, creamy.
nels
In order to judge the harshness or creaminess of the bokeh, shouldn't there be objects in the bokeh area that may render harsh or creamy? What does the linked pic illustrate other than the fact that it shows shallow DOF?
emre
Right. You need some specular highlights to see how the lens smoothes them out.
jongraham1
I wouldn't consider it harsh. http://i.pbase.com/g6/93/720693/2/69329631.xoyBn7bx.jpg
