billc1
Has anyone used the current macro 90mm adapter on a Bessa R2A or R3A? Can it work? Is it true that a user can use the current 90 Elmarit on the adapter too? Any experiences?
john_shriver
I don't think any Leica goggles of any sort work on the Bessa cameras. The viewfinder and rangefinder windows are in different locations, reflecting their shorter base line.
billsr
I agree with John about the goggles. The Macro 90mm has 2 different distance scales engraved on the barrel. One is for normal usage and the other is for macro work. To engage the macro lens position, one must mount the lens "upside down" so that the red dot of the lens locks in position on the LEFT side of the body, with the MACRO scale on top and the NORMAL scale on the bottom. This arrangement is not available on the standard 90 Elmarit. If one can afford the breathtaking cost of the macro adapter, he needn't be working with Bessas, methinks! ;<)) Best, Bill
rich_weiss
the 90 elmarit does not work... I called Leica, they said no, and I tried it just to verify...it does not work.
