john_n._wall
Simple question -- if you print on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl with an Epson R2400 printer, where does the paper go? Does this paper go into the regular rack on top of the printer, or does one need to feed it in through the slot on the back? Sorry if this has been covered before, but I have looked and can't find it. And my first box of FAP is on the way from B&H.
john_brewton
You really need to feed it from the slot at the back.
roger_smith4
It feeds fine through the top of my Epson R220. I think most papers will go through without too much trouble- try both ways if you like.
marek_fogiel
Just feed the paper from the top, one sheet at a time, it works fine on my R2400.
john_n._wall
Many thanks. This is just the kind of information I needed. I look forward to trying this paper. I currently use Epson Premium Luster and I'm hoping my experience with the new paper justifies the difference in cost.
godfrey
What's the weight of H Fine Art Pearl? I'm using Epson Velvet Fine Art and Hahnemühle Fine Art Smooth. They're similar in weight and thickness: Epson recommends using the single- sheet feeder from the back with the R2400 with the Velvet Fine Art. That's what I've been doing and it works very nicely. Same for Somerset Enhanced Velvet. Godfrey
paul_viapiano
For all of the 2400 owners: How is the neutrality of the B&W prints via the ABW settings? How do the toning on prints look to you? I haven't seen any samples from this printer, even though it's been out for a while...
godfrey
I use a color managed, profile-based workflow normally, rather than the Epson's ABW features. Compared to Epson Enhanced Matte, Hahnemühle Fine Art Photo Rag (Smooth) is a little warmer paper base but is otherwise neutral. When I switch to ABW printing mode, I usually switch for the ability to consistently tone my prints, and it does a beautiful warm tone on this paper.
