arthuryeo
Installed it. My usual workflow seems to go thru fine, except the U-point. It seems to be having problems between hiding and revealing. I'll have to play with it further.
lars
A weird thing is that my version 1.0.1 did NOT find the update when "asked" to look for one through the Help menu!
tri-x1
Can someone tell me, does Capture NX have to ability to control the camera from the computer and/or download profiles to the camera? Older versions could but I heard NX can't.
ilkka_nissila
No, it can't. NX is not a new version of Capture, it is a new program with different advantages and disadvantages. Even the NEF file tags aren't compatible. There is a separate program for doing the tasks that you mention, that Nikon sells.
tri-x1
Sounds like I want to go with the Capture 4 version.
ilkka_nissila
I think Capture 4 is good to have around if your camera is not a D80 or D2Xs. And you can "upgrade" it to NX to have both. I like NX for doing selective adjustments. The control point feature allows some things to be done easily and effectively. You need a lot more skill and experience with Photoshop if you want to do similar things so that the end result looks as good. But NX 1.0.x is slow and a memory hog like no other program. It'll also occasionally crash. I am hoping 1.1 is better; I just installed it. NX has enormous potential, they just need to fix the problems. Also it would be good if Nikon kept providing support for new cameras in Capture 4.4. 4.4. is a lot more professional than NX in terms of its user interface and stability. mclain swift
I like NX and agree that it has great potential. They need to get it faster and fix the UI big time.
