john_richardson16
I'm having trouble setting up my 20D and MacBook Pro using Canon's ViewerSoftware. Is this software not supportive of the intel macs? Is there othersoftware to run the camera in tethered mode?
m_barbu1
Did you download the latest version?
PuppyDigs
It won't run native but is plenty peppy in Rosetta. But, yeah, get the lastest EOS Utility, Camera Window and DPP. The old versions have some problems with OS 10.4x on any Mac, not just IntelMacs. Tethered shooting didn't work at all with the old apps on the 20D CD (worked only with OS 10.3x). However they work great with the updated apps under OS 10.48. You can access Remote Capture through a menu in DPP, EOS Utility or Camera Window. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
chris_harley1
Don't know what problems you're having but it works fine on my intel imac. Just use firewire not usb, the software doesn't like usb 2.0.
m_barbu1
Chris, check your software versions. I don't have any problems using a Digital Rebel XT on an Intel iMac via USB.
bdb
I am also having problems with this. I've got a MacBook running 10.4.9 and a 20D. I have the latest versions of EOS Capture (1.5) and DPP (3.0.1). When I connect the camera and try to open EOS Capture, nothing happens. The app doesn't appear in the dock and no app window appears. The computer recognizes the camera (connected via USB) because I see it in System Profiler and Aperture can open it. Any ideas?
