imran_ahmed
I would like to know about the noise at ISO 400 for this camera. I could not use either G5 or Canon S80 for any serious picture taking at iso
mdunker
Have you looked at the samples taken with the G7 at dpreview.com? http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong7/page18.asp You can judge for yourself. I'm sure there are other sources of samples taken at various iso settings on the internet.
iansky
Imran, I am happy with the quality of images taken at 400, in fact for the size of the sensor and also the fact it has no RAW the images are superb, they produce very good prints up to A3 without appearing to mush out the colours. Have a look at my pictures under Gallery/Presentations/Canon Powershot G7 there are some images taken at 400 amongst them. In comparison to both the G5 & S80, the image quality is far superior on the G7 and if Canon had listened to everyone and followed it's competitors and given it RAW, it would be even better. savas_kyprianides
Here is another high ISO picture with G7. What is useful to know is that printed results turn out wonderful and do not demonstrate what you see when zooming into a 72 dpi representation of it on a computer monitor. If printed output is your thing and recall you are using a point and shoot, then you can safely ignore the specs and hearsay about noise.
