rixhobbbies
I've been looking through the manual but I can't find anything to help so I'm hoping someone here can clue me in. Is there a way to have the D200 increment the picture numbers even after you've moved the pics off the memory card or formatted? It seems like it should keep track and increment the numbers to avoid getting two pics with the same name. Rick
Matt Laur
You can drill down into the menu area and alter the FOLDER (on the CF card) in which the files are being written, and also change a prefix for all of the files (so, your second batch could all start with a new prefix or write to a new folder). I usually just dump my images to a new folder on my laptop... I use folder names like this:

2007-02-03a
2007-02-03b
2007-02-03c

And that way I'm not worried about file name overlap. rixhobbbies
Thanks Clive! Not sure how I missed that but that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to everyone else for the good ideas on folder management too! Regards, Rick

joseph_smith3
Or consider using a program called Downloader Pro that does a host of things as well as renaming your images at the time of download.
