cao tuo Posted February 4, 2007 Share Posted February 4, 2007 i got the software, but everytime i connect the camera to the laptop, straight connection, the software says it cannot find a camera, i know the nikon website doesnt include the d40 for the software requirement, but have anybody tried to work it out ? frank_skomial Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 D40 has 2 settings for connections to a computer, one is discovered by most software, the other is mostly used by Nikon software. One is a USB memory device like a hard disk, the other is a USB control device. Chances are that your D40 is set in the other mode that may not be recognizable by most/some software. Lookup menu for USB configuration and try the other mode. You have 2 choices for your test should be easy. Then, if that fails, try another USB port on your computer. If you have it right, the camera setting and good port, when you power up D40, a dialog should pop up detecting USB camera, and will give you perhaps choices of browsers that could browse your in camera memory. frank_skomial Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 Test you USB port with another USB device like an USB mouse, USB Keyboard. Then try an USB Card reader ?
