iso blinking on 1DsMkII top LCD

I was shooting a portrait in my studio yesterday using my 1DsMkII, a 70-200L

IS & the Canon 2X extender. I was shooting manual (M) at 160th using Dyna

Lites on a synch cord (never a problem at that speed) and shooting at f/9. The

camera worked fine, but I noticed that the small ISO on the top display panel

next to the frames left indicater was blinking on and off. I checked the ISO

and it was set for 100. Does anyone know what this means? Could it be related

to the 2X? The low ambient? I can't find a referrence for the blinking ISO

anywhere. let me know, thanks.

I can't answer all of your questions but blinking ISO is NOT a camera response to TC (1.4 or 2X) and not to low ambient light. That's interesting if it is in response to low battery because I've never seen that at <1/2 battery charge. Maybe when you start to get below 1/4 battery strength the camera starts to get serious. At the cost of a 1Ds MKII you'd think the camera would send out a message to Radio Shack and have the batteries hand-delivered:)
