elizabeth2
I received a CB80 Polaroid back and decided to make my own Holgaroid.Unfortunately, the image it takes is pretty small. So I removed the 6x6 insert, hacked the inside making a large rectangle opening instead of the small square opening but the image is still the same small square. Does anyone know what Polaroid did to make the "full screen" version of the Holgaroid? Should I cut into the metal plate on the shutter to make the opening bigger? Is it a different lens? I'm running out of ideas.
randall ellis
I've only seen pictures of the 'real' back for the Holga, but the image area should be round if there is nothing vignetting it. Check the back to see how large the opening is to the film plane - it could be that the opening is just designed to allow a 6x6 image area. - Randy
randall ellis
From Wikipedia "When first introduced, the image produced by a CB80 did not cover the full frame of the Type-80 film. Shortly after its release, a modified CB80, called the CB80 Full Frame, was introduced that matched the full size of the film." - Randy
oliver_tan1
Or you can just wait for the NEW polaroid back for the Holga which takes type 80 and 66+ series film. Freestyle photographic will be carrying it soon.
elizabeth2
Thanks All. I guess I could wait but that wouldn't be fun. :D Perhaps I can try modifying the CB80 and not the Holga itself... *rubs hands together*
