YES I got an army style messinger bag for x.mas and was wandering if there is

some way of putting extra padding inside. It's made of canvas nice heavy strap

Some rolls of bubble wrap should work pretty well.

This is what I have. I phoned a few packaging companies asking for black polyethylene foam for electronics packaging. Got two blocks cut to fit the bag for $7 each. Then cut out recesses myself.

Whatever you get, you might want to ensure it's resistant to Electric Static Discharge.

A camping supply store should carry a closed cell foam pad. Make your own desired size dividers. Get some adhesive velcro strips at Home Depot, Target, etc.

 

I am seriously debating doing the same thing for a nice unobtrusive bag, but with full padding for protection.

I've done what NOTMY describes, works fine, when the velcro peeled off (it was meant for fabric), I just stuffed the vertical foam pieces in where I wanted them, again, worked fine

 

I duct taped the sides and bottom together to make the box

 

Total cost about $7 and maybe twenty minutes
