brian_baxter
What photo image software can I use with my EOS REBEL camera? I want to be able to preview a photo on my monitor before, and or after I take the picture. I do not really want to switch to RAW imaging, but would rather stay with jpeg format. PuppyDigs
You can only preview an image by looking directly though your SLR viewfinder. Indeed, that's one of the main reasons for owning a SLR! However you can't preview an image electronically with most SLRs. Nevertheless, you can view it immediately after the shot. Connect a USB cable to your EOS and computer, start EOS Utility and select the remote capture option. It takes less than a second for the image from my 5D to display on my Mac via USB 2. You can also change camera settings from the computer. If you need a longer cable I found a powered hub works best. A really long cable without the hub was flaky. Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
pico
Doesn't Remote Capture work for you? If you use OS-X there is software that will do it.
michel eberhard
Interesting, I've been trying to set something like this up myself, but I'm not at all happy with the Canon software provided. Controls are very limited. I do use OSX, can you recommend a good piece of (free) software? Thanks in advance, Michel
