gmorais1
Hello all! I just bought a nikon coolscan V. I notice that it comes with a profile for kodakcrome. I would like to know if there are other profiles available somewhere. Thanks in advance, Goncalo
Ed_Ingold
No. You only get the built-in profiles. If you "calibrate" the scanner and create a new profile, you have to apply it using Photoshop (or another CMS-aware editor).
hilbert5
Hi, if "profiles" should be read as "scanning profiles", then Viewscan has dozens of them. I think, you refer to Nikon Scan (Software) rather than to the Scanner hardware. As mentioned before, for Nikon Scan there is no such thing you look for, but nobody says you must use Nikon Scan... Cheers, Ernst.
bruce_rubenstein
The Kodachrome setting really isn't a profile. It just locks out being able to apply ICE. There are no Nikon film profiles.
rich815
I thought one of the improvements of the V and 5000 over the IV and 4000 was the supposed ability to use ICE with Kodachrome? (I say supposed because I used ICE with my 4000 and Kodachrome with no problems at all---depending on the version of Kodachrome). More to Goncalo question, I use Vuescan almost exclusively with my Coolscan 4000 much preferring it over NikonScan. That said however I almost always scan on Generic instead of the profiles and get very good results, particularly with Kodak Gold 100 and 200, Fuji Reala and Kodak 400 UC. gmorais1
I tryed the Vuescan and I got very good results. Indeed I will quit to use Nikonscan as my prefered scan software. Thank you all for your help. Goncalo
