jay_b3
I'm curious about what other people use to design their own album layouts. I'd kind of like to do my own rather than outsource at this point. Software needs to run on OSX.
I'm cool with just using photoshop along with any templates and recommendations that the specific album company provides, but I'm wondering if there are some nice programs that will make life simpler without ending up with a generic look... ?
annealmasy
We just use Photoshop. Our primary album supplier is AsukaBook, and they do provide "templates", which are really just pre-sized canvases for Photoshop. You can check our some of our album designs on our website, if you like. We keep them very simple and easy-to-build.
scott levine
Capri Album design and bind is a great product. Very user friendly for both photographer and client.
jefferson_todd_pals
A program like PhotoJunction is nice because you can layout the images and then load them in photoshop individually for editing after you layout. Then export the pages to PSD files and convert to JPEGs. I'm actually using Adobe InDesign because it's built for page layout. But it can be difficult to figure out. alejandro_fresno
Perhaps you should give a try to Album DS ( www.albumds.com ). This software runs with Photoshop and has all the needed features built in, you may design any album size because templates resize automatically to fit. It takes also control over used pictures, designed pages; templates, masks and frames are also provided. It uses the working area of Photoshop to design the album, this way you may add any effect, adjust layer, etc. End files are JPG, TIF and PSD. Thanks for reading, A. watermelon
I use Adobe InDesign for book making. It may look confusing but after only a 10 minute intro you will be up and making albums with the greatest level of control out of all the other options. norman_kushner
Lab Prints is a wonderful program. Neds to be used in conjuction with a lab. There are many labs to choose from. Digi labs also offers an album design program. YSI is another template program. YSI is stand alone that works with Photoshop. These are all Mac savy.
